Clint Williams is in trouble. When he arrives in a new school way out on the west coast he thinks that this time, things will be different. A few weeks later, he's expelled from school, running from his enemies and holed up in a the craziest place he could imagine. Can he redeem himself - with a horse?

'When I do school events and kids ask me what author they should read I say Anthony Horowitz, Rosemary Sutcliff and Dan Anthony,' Tom Palmer.

school visits

I visit junior and secondary schools thorought the UK. For junior schools, The Rugby Zombies and Steve's Dreams inform literacy workshops which inspire young readers. In secondary schools, The Last Big One workshops energize reluctant readers by using a brand new story as a springboard to discussion and new writing,

'The Last Big One workshop was extremely successful: students (and staff) enjoyed it, pupils who thought that they were "no good at English" realised that they could unleash their imagination, and they were given more confidence in their ability. It was particularly 'boy friendly' but girls were equally engrossed in the activities and got a tremendous amount out of the project. There was a lovely balance of support and freedom for the students, and they produced some of the best imaginative writing that we have seen from them.’ Kirsty Price – Head of English, Whitchurch High School, Cardiff.

'Dan Anthony gave a fantastic workshop in our school, ranging from year 5 to year 7 and he was a big hit with the children.  With my own eyes I witnessed rapt attention from the most reluctant readers!' J.Wells year 7 tutor,  Oundle and King's Cliffe Middle School, Northants.
